We love when an animated film turns live action. We fawn over it when it is one of our favorites. And what favorite are we talking about?
Well that would be Cinderella.
It was previously reported that Camilla Cabello would be playing the title role and we got all sorts of excited. We know now who may be playing her evil ass stepmother.
Well, that would be Broadway star Idina Menzel.
Let’s be honest, the stepmother in Cinderella gave us all nightmares about the possibility of ever having a stepmother in our lives.
Menzel is in talks to play Evelyn, the evil wench who makes Cinderella’s life a living hell. Who knows what it will be like in this version, but we’re here for it. It was also reported that Pose star, Billy Porter is in talks to play the fairy godmother.
The Sony film will be directed and written by Kay Cannon, starts filming in London next year.
As of now, Cinderella opens in theaters Feb. 5, 2021.
