We’re not saying that the older age set doesn’t deserve love. As a matter of fact we’re saying the exact opposite. Everyone – no matter the age – deserves to be loved, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t find The Golden Bachelor to be all sorts of cringy at times.
And hey, a lot of that cringe comes from their marketing plans. ABC has developed love to make us all cringe with their marketing plans for any Bachelor or Bachelorette franchise though.
Gerry Turner is The Golden Bachelor, and we’re a little confused as to why he thought that the assignment was to actual be gold (but we’ll blame the spray tan people). That aside, we’ve been wondering how cringe that he will be and just how young or old the age range of his seasons contestants will be. Looks like we didn’t have to wonder for long.
In an interview with Variety, Gerry said that he had given a general age range, and said, “I think I said 60 to 70, but feel free to blur the lines.”
Yup, we’re cringing at you Gerry. That’s just not as cute of a line as you think it is.
