Stephen Amell is finally saying the right things. And considering this is Stephen Amell, we’re just going to say the most obvious reason that comes to mind: he finally got a publicist. Or, he had a meeting with SAG-AFTRA and they kindly explained that if he wanted to work again, and you know, remain in the union, he needed to start loudly supporting the strike.
As mentioned before, he could have just shut up, to begin with, but when has he done that?
The interview below, given to TMZ, is probably one of the strongest pieces of acting by Amell in recent history. It almost looks like he cares. It almost looks like he’s learned a lesson.
“I always say that I support my union — when I said that I don’t support the strike, that was the wrong choice of words. Plain and simple. I put my foot in my mouth trying to take ownership of it,” Amell said in the interview. He also said he’d be back on the picket lines.
You know, the right things he should have been saying from the beginning.
Forgive us if we’re not convinced yet, though. We’re going to need some more time and a lot more “acting” or whatever this is from Amell. This is, after all, far from the first time the actor puts his foot in his mouth.
