Warrior Nun is apparently getting a trilogy of motion pictures according to executive producer Dean English. Over on WarriorNunSaved.com, he thanked the loyal Halo Bearers who have kept this show trending week after week. He then went on to say, “I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures. Once again, a trilogy of feature films. Three.”
Of course, we started thinking of ideas. And by we, I mean me, your fellow queer writer who absolutely devoured this show and reviewed every episode here. A trilogy is an opportunity to do a lot when it comes to our favorite badasses. But it’s especially a good opportunity to center Avatrice in some of our favorite fanfic tropes.
1. Gay Love Piercing the Veil
If there’s anything that I know about queer love, it’s that it has the power to pierce any veil and save the day. Sure, Beatrice is out there trying to find herself. But there’s no way that she isn’t thinking about Ava or how to find her. And the same thing can be said about Ava. Their love will prevail.
2. Groundhog Peggy Sue
I would love to see a day repeat itself when it comes to Beatrice especially. A kind of groundhog day where Beatrice gets to experience a day with Ava over again as a way of introspection into her feelings for Ava. Not for a whole movie of course. But for pivotal scenes with kissing, holding hands, and did we mention forehead kisses?
3. Forced Proximity
There’s just something so special about forced proximity between a ship. Definitely not between people that don’t know each other or are enemies. We want to respect spaces, people. But I love scenes where they have to sit super close on a couch because there’s no room or let’s hide in this closet from the bad guys. And oh look! The closet is small! Smooches?
4. Magic Girl Transformation
Despite what we’ve seen Ava do on Warrior Nun, we haven’t really had a magical girl transformation. I’m talking about Sailor Moon’s kind of transformation. And honestly, wherever Ava is, I hope she’s learning how to make an entrance and what to do when you need to get into your ass-kicking outfit really quickly.

5. Fake Dating
Ava is a little shit who brightens up anytime Beatrice is around. Because of this, I think she would have a ball with the fake dating trope. She would probably say super sappy stuff she’s not totally confident she’d say any other time. And Beatrice would flush from head to toe. But at the end, the feelings they already have for each other will be intensified. Because this isn’t just love. It’s forever.
Warrior Nun season 1 and 2 are available on Netflix.
