Daisy Ridley is finally back on our screens in The Marsh King’s Daughter. Based on the best-selling book by Karen Dionne, it tells the story of Helena, a woman who must confront her past after her father escapes his prison transport. Because while she might be living a picturesque life with her husband and daughter, it wasn’t like that at all when she was a kid. Her father held her and her mother hostage in the forest, twisting her into an existence built on his rules.
The question is, what does she do now that her father is out there? Because he’s coming for her. She knows it and that’s why the police are at her home. As Helena faces how her life has changed again, she slips into a fight or flight mode, ultimately choosing fight. Because her family is her everything, and there’s no way she’s going to allow her daughter to have the same life she did. Helena is going to fight.

In the tense thriller The Marsh King’s Daughter, a woman with a secret past will venture into the wilderness she left behind to confront the most dangerous man she’s ever met: her father. When her father escapes from prison, Helena will need to confront her past.
