When we think of Mayim Bialik, lately we think of her as the host of Jeopardy. The thing is though, she’s played a few iconic roles in her life. Amy Farrah Fowler, anyone?
But to us, the first role we think of her in is playing Blossom. She’s always going to be that character that we grew up on. Blossom was a comedy that we loved and in a land of reboots, we are surprised that we haven’t seen one.
Well, Mayim did have something to say about that.
“I’m happy to tell you that, yes, it’s true. All of the cast and the original creator and producers are on board, and we believe a reboot can and should exist once the strike ends,” Bialik said in an interview with Vanity Fair.
The thing is though, they don’t want it to be the same as it was. The hope is to reboot it as a sitcom.
“We’re hoping to reboot it not as a sitcom, though. We want to bring back these interesting, deep characters—a child of divorce, a recovering drug addict, an alcoholic—to see them in a whole new way,” she added in the interview.
We’d love to see something different. We definitely love a reboot, but we always love something new.
In addtion to Bialik, the original Blossom starred Joey Lawrence, Michael Stoyanov, Jenna von Oÿ, Davis Lascher, Portia Dawson, Bernard Hughes, Finola Hughes, Courtney Chase and Ted Wass.
Would you be excited for a Blossom reboot?
