Talking about your mental health isn’t something that is easy, but it is something that we believe is of the utmost importance. Talking and communicating is the only way to change the way the conversation.
Selena Gomez has been very open about her bipolar diagnosis. For people like me, that has been life changing.
When the Rare Beauty founder spoke to Fast Company about her diagnosis and the time right before that she said, “I went through a really hard season. It was my highs and my lows, and I didn’t know what to do, so I couldn’t control it. I would want to cancel things. It was just a tormented feeling. That’s why, when I found out my diagnosis, it was just, ‘Oh, okay, I feel a bit relieved, I understand a bit more.’ I got second opinions. I went to doctors. I’m fortunate enough to be able to have people who can help me survive every day.”
We’re so glad that she does have those people. Everyone deserve that type of support in their life. Check in on your friends and make sure that they are okay. It could change a life.
