AMC Networks released a first look scene for Interview with the Vampire Season 2 at New York Comic Con. And — predictably, if you’ve been reading our coverage — we are losing our minds over all this new Armand content. There’s something about what Assad Zaman brings to this character that continues to just fit. So, if we could just skip over the rest of 2023 and get to that 2024 release date, that would be fabulous. We’re just saying we’re starving for more, is all.
One thing in particular that works incredibly well in this latest tease is the chemistry between Zaman’s Armand and Jacob Anderson’s Louis. Perhaps we should just steal Armand’s “it’s alluring” comment here. Because, um. Yeah. That. Alluring indeed. Or, maybe, the only way to put it is to say that these two vampires are extremely thirsty — in more ways than one. And, somewhat surprisingly, the thirst for each other seems to be more powerful than the thirst for all that family de la Croix blood. (Bonus: Our beautiful Armand said, “eat the rich!” At least, that’s basically the vibe. Everyone else is starving, and these assholes are making a killing. Therefore, eat the rich.)
So, what are we thinking, fellow IWTV lovers? Hotter than Louis and Lestat? Equal? No need to compete because Anne Rice’s vampires are just going to have connections that go far beyond our normal concept of shipping? Drop us some comments down below. We have some time to kill before Season 2, so we may as well have some fun with it. Which, speaking of fun: Our boys look to be having just as much of a blast flirting as the rest of the group is having with all the murder in the background. Love that for them!
Also, this probably goes without saying? But Louis is so unserious for trying to play “I don’t know her” games when Armand specifically mentions his “trepidation when the name Lestat was uttered.” Louis, sweetie. He literally just said you’re not good at hiding your thoughts. He’s older and more powerful than you. So, he’s going to know you’re lying. Hopefully, he thinks the deception is just about Louis trying to pretend he’s not on the rebound or whatever. Definitely better than Armand finding out the real reason Louis is squeamish about hearing his ex’s name.
Not to be left out, the new clip features even more content from Delainey Hayles as Claudia. So far, we’re digging both the knowing look she shoots Louis’ way before giving him some alone time with Armand and the fascinating transition into more of a monster who takes pleasure from the kill. It looks like, at least as of this scene, Claudia is thriving in Europe. But…well. No spoilers…Just. Um…yeah.

Between this, the new images, and the Théâtre teaser released this summer, we just really need Interview with the Vampire Season 2 to get here already, ok? Ok.
Interview with the Vampire Season 2 will premiere on AMC and AMC+ in 2024. Stay tuned for more news because you know we’ll have thoughts as it comes! Until then, feel free to tell us what you’re most excited for, or what you hope to see, or how much of a Brat Lestat is…or anything series-related, really.
