The thing about Under The Christmas Sky is that is it looks a little intense, but we mean that in the best way. When it comes to Countdown to Christmas, we love a movie that looks intense and if we’re going to cry, we love it. We love a movie that is going to touch our hearts.
And this definitely seems like it.
Under The Christmas Sky also has two actors that we love and adore – Jessica Parker Kennedy and Ryan Paevey. Look, Secret Circle and General Hospital forever.
So what’s the movie about? Well it’s about, “Astrophysicist, Kat and by the books David are forced to work on a planetarium exhibit opening right before Christmas. Will the stars align to bring these two together at the holidays?”

THE LONG DESCRIPTION
Kat (Kennedy) was an astronaut on the rise until a car accident left her with a blind spot, halting her promising career. With Christmas being her favorite holiday, her parents and brother Andy (Andrew Bushell, “The Spencer Sisters”) try to lift her spirits, filling her time with cookie making, tree decorating and holiday shopping, but Kat is still missing her driving spark. When Andy learns of an exhibit at the local planetarium he immediately thinks of Kat, and with a little nudging, she agrees to consult. Kat is paired up with curator David (Paevey), who isn’t thrilled to have outside “help.” When tasked with incorporating community involvement and Christmas into their planning, their different approaches – and personalities – cause them to clash. Eventually, Kat and David find some common ground amid the magic of Christmas and their shared love of space, and their holiday exhibit opens as a resounding success. Riding the wave of their big win, and not wanting to part ways just yet, David and Kat are inspired to create an additional event – a Santa tracking party on Christmas Eve. As their time working together comes to a close, and Kat is presented with a job opportunity and a fresh start out of state, their new connection and growing feelings for one another are put to the test as they try to decide just what the future could hold. But, a little Christmas spirit will help these two find their way to happiness on Christmas day.

Jessica Parker Kennedy – Jessica Parker Kennedy is a Canadian actress of film and television. Born in Calgary, Alberta her first string of screen work began with the television film, Santa Baby (2006), as Lucy the Elf, a role she reprises in the television film sequel, Santa Baby 2: Christmas Maybe (2009). With a repertoire of television credits, Jessica’s continuing work ties with series such as V (2009), Undercovers (2010) and Smallville (2001). She made several supporting role appearances in television-made features, including Behemoth (2011) and Collision Earth (2011). Jessica has also appeared in high-profile movies, such as the biographical comedy 50/50 (2011), starring rising stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick. She also had a role in the action film, In Time (2011), starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried. Jessica is best known for her roles on Smallville and, more recently, on the supernatural drama, The Secret Circle (2011), as “Melissa”. Jessica can be seen in the hit STARZ show, Black Sails (2014), and will be appearing in The Perfect Guy (2015) with Michael Ealy (2015). Jessica Parker Kennedy is also a trained singer and splits her time between Vancouver and Los Angeles.

RYAN PAEVEY (David) – Ryan Paevey launched his career in December 2013, playing Detective Nathan West on ABC’s General Hospital. His character instantly became a fan favorite, and he spent four years on the show. Paevey’s departure became one of the most mourned deaths in the history of the soap.
During his time on General Hospital, Paevey also starred in the Hallmark Channel original movies Unleashing Mr. Darcy in 2016 and Harvest Love in 2017. In 2018, he appeared in Marrying Mr. Darcy on Hallmark Channel and Hope at Christmas on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. In 2019, Paevey starred the Hallmark Channel original movies From Friend to Fiancé, A Summer Romance and Christmas at the Plaza, and was seen in a guest arc on the BET drama Games People Play.

Born and raised in Southern California, Paevey spent most of his childhood exploring the great outdoors. Acting was never on his radar growing up, and he was happiest when he was outside camping, hiking, or rock climbing. Though he’s a true outdoorsman at heart, his striking features caught the attention of a modeling agency, and he started modeling on the side for extra cash while working in construction. Aside from his print work, Paevey was featured in Christina Aguilera’s music video, “Your Body.”
On his days off, Paevey can be found (or not found) scouting out uncharted territories for the occasional cliff jumping session or finding other ways to satisfy his craving for thrill seeking – sitting still is not an option. He is also a self-proclaimed nerd, loving video games and all things tech.
