NCIS: Sydney 1×01 “Gone Fission” brings back not just procedural television, but the NCIS franchise — just as SAG-AFTRA has reached a deal that promises the rest of the procedural lineup will return to our screens sooner rather than later.
NCIS: Sydney, the fifth show in the NCIS franchise and the third one set to air this season — alongside NCIS and NCIS: Hawai’i, is an entirely new proposition, so it comes with no expectations, and a lot of promise. And if the photos and sneak peeks are to be believed, there’s a lot to build on there. The NCIS name already gives the show a leg up. Now all it has to deliver is some solid dynamics for us to get invested in and we might be seeing these people for seasons to come.
So here’s all you need to get prepared for the premiere of the show, starting with a list of the characters. We gotta know who we’ll be following here, after all:
Olivia Swann as Michelle Mackey, NCIS Special Agent-in-Charge
Todd Lasance as Jim “JD” Dempsey, Australian Federal Police (AFP) Second-in-Command
Sean Sagar as DeShawn Jackson, NCIS Special Agent (SA)
Tuuli Narkle as Constable Evie Cooper, AFP Liaison Officer
Mavournee Hazel as Bluebird “Blue” Gleeson, AFP forensic scientist
William McInnes as Roy Penrose, AFP forensic pathologist
And here’s the synopsis for the first episode:
The death of an American seaman on a U.S. nuclear submarine during an AUKUS ceremony on Sydney Harbour is investigated in a joint effort between America’s NCIS agents afloat and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), on the series premiere of the CBS Original series NCIS: Sydney.
