Can you imagine getting a text message from Leonardo DiCaprio? Us neither. Even if we knew him, we’d be like are you sure you have the right number? We’d be like wait, you remember my name? Yes, we’re that weird, and we’re okay with it.
Lily Gladstone worked with the actor on Killers of the Flower Moon. She’s is the first Native American to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress and while speaking to Extra, she said that Dicaprio was one of the first to reach out.
She said, “He was just so proud, and then I told him that I was watching with my parents and ‘we’re celebrating me, but we’re also, like, collectively very pissed off for you.'”
The actress was talking about being pissed off because Dicaprio wasn’t nominated. She continued, “He did such an incredible job in this, and, like, just, he made an impossible character just so vivid, and it made my job so much easier, so I really want to share this, this moment with him, but you know, he told me right before the Globes, ‘No matter the outcome, I think you’re amazing and I’m proud of you.'”
We love their bond and we’re so excited for Lily and her nomination. Have you seen Killers of the Flower Moon? What did you think?
