Marvel’s Frank Castle and Karen Page make up the best kind of ship—the unexpected kindred spirits with an ability to connect to one another in a way they never possible. Affectionally coined Kastle by the fans, Frank and Karen’s relationship makes The Punisher what it is while leaving many hopeful that her return to Daredevil: Born Again could strike things up again. In more ways than one, Karen Page is the heart of Hell’s Kitchen—she’s the character the entire show would crumble without, and Frank Castle especially, who likely doesn’t even realize how much he relies on her even when he’d kill for her.
Whether the writers intended for fans to ship Kastle as fiercely as they do, it was damn near impossible not to with Jon Bernthal and Deborah Ann Woll’s chemistry. From the first scene they share to the last, there’s an indescribable connection glowing that’s rare in an expansive universe with many relationships under its stars.
The warmth in some of their exchanges, the vulnerability, the hesitations, the doubts, the fire, the uncertainties—every moment effectively showcases why they’d be perfect together. How they believe in each other, the lengths they’re willing to go to keep the other safe—every step, every look, they’re all full of conversations that words can’t even begin to describe.
