We’ve been thinking about our Suits family a lot lately. Or, really, since forever…but still. So, what better time than Galentine’s Day to relive the epic love story of Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty, the self-described sister wives? (Or, Pearson Paulsen if you want to get fictional.) Pretty sure their friendship is what the kids these days call “goals.” That is, of course, assuming they’re still actually saying that — just saying, we don’t always keep up-to-date on the lingo because, you know, our brains are too busy being awesome.
Anyway. Enough reusing our favorite Donna lines — this is about Sarah and Gina, not Donna and Jessica. (But, let the record show we love them, too, Your Honor.)
Without further ado, and with the timeline all over the place (just like our feelings when we think about them), let’s take a walk down memory lane. Note: most posts come from Sarah Rafferty’s Instagram because she’s been fangirling with us on social media a little bit longer than her sister Gina Torres has.
…but give it a few more years. After all, 2030 isn’t that far away anymore. Hm…
Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres: Our forever Galentines
Just sisters having fun, going on adventures, being grownups…
Gina Torres, queen of birthday wishes for her “sisterwife/friend”
At some point, all the sister wives love on set had to come to an end…or so we thought.
Post-Suits sister wives love.
Jessica Pearson might have left the firm with the name that nobody (including its partners) could keep track of, but she always found her way back home.
The second goodbye, to the whole cast, deserves a mention here:
But, just like her fictional character, who always made it back to [Insert Firm Name Where they Say “Shit” A Lot Here], Torres always seems to find her way back to her “beloved” (!!!) Sarah. Our glamorous Galentines spent some time together on the picket lines during Hot Strike Summer*, and we fangirled hard.
*You know, that time when the corporate goons were profiting off record streams of their work, yet they couldn’t really talk about it because they were on strike to stop the corporate goons from taking advantage of them even more…yeah. That.
Uh, and can we take a timeout from all the social media content to admire the way they made an entrance at the 2024 Golden Globes?
And finally (for now), there’s the recent 2024 Super Bowl ad for E.L.F. Cosmetics. Just look how emotional Sarah Rafferty gets when she talks about how getting together with her (hopefully) forever Galentine Gina and (honorary gal pal?) costar Rick Hoffman “feels like coming home.”
If you can’t spend Galentine’s Day with someone who loves you the way Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres love each other — and/or as much as we love them, their characters, and their little show about so much more than a law firm — what even is the point?
