We all need to remember that social media doesn’t tell us everything. It’s a snapshot of the good (mostly) of someones life. It doesn’t tell the entire story. It tells a little sliver of what is.
Not everything.
That’s a big part of the reason that we should not troll people on line. We don’t know what people are going through or what they are doing. We definitely have no idea what other people are going through. We just don’t know and it’s also not something that we need to comment on.
But that doesn’t stop people. Not even close.
Nicola Peltz Beckham is no stranger to people commenting on her life and talking about her life.
“I get a lot of mean comments on my Instagram that, unfortunately, I do read, and they always comment, ‘She doesn’t work,’” she shared with Byrdie. The outlet said that she had a noticeable pain in her voice saying it. “And that’s fair, and I don’t blame them for saying that because it’s not like I’m posting my Lola experience every step of the way. But I really have been working on Lola for six years. It’s such a massively long process.”
The actress has long been working on Lola, a movie that she both wrote and directed. Making movies is a long process and for Peltz-Beckham, Lola was a labour of love. It took six years to bring it to life.
We need to cut people a break. We don’t know everything – no one does. It’s important that we realize that words hurt and we need to be kind.
