If we weren’t sure about cruises before this episode of 9-1-1, we are now. We’re never, ever, ever going on a cruise again. But 9-1-1 7×02 “Rock the Boat” made one thing clear: if we’re ever caught in an emergency, we want Athena and Bobby there with us. Let’s review.
Gunshots, Explosions, and Hurricanes: Oh My!
“Rock the Boat” was actioned packed from the very first minute. The pirates wasted no time shooting Norman, and they probably would have killed him if Bobby and Athena hadn’t stepped in. Poor Norman. His wife is having an affair, and he gets shot. Definitely not having the best week. Also, shout out to Athena for figuring out Julian had the dongle all along! Even when she’s in the middle of an ocean, she’s still a cop. (And we’re glad we didn’t imagine Julian’s creepiness last week).
Things went from bad to worse when there was an explosion on the ship. Of course, Athena went to save the day, but when Bobby found her, they were trapped. This scene was very well done. It truly showed how much they love each other. Just when we thought they weren’t going to make it, a miracle happened, and they escaped.
Oh, but then there’s the hurricane which is gaining strength. Seeing that huge wave knock the ship sideways was terrifying. How in the world are Bobby, Athena, and the rest of the passengers going to make it out of this?
Back in L.A.
There weren’t many calls for the 118 this week except the one that almost cost Hen her job. We were somewhat disappointed that the rest of the team didn’t have Hen’s back. Her questions to Karen were valid: would they have questioned Bobby’s leadership? And will this affect Hen’s relationship with the rest of the team in the future?
9-1-1 7×02 “Rock the Boat” also touched on something that’s very important to us: Hen and Athena’s friendship. Hen knows something’s wrong with the cruise ship, and because of her insistence, maybe the Coast Guard will be able to find Bobby and Athena before it’s too late.
The first two episodes of 9-1-1 have been intense, and while we do love exciting drama, we’re really looking forward to having everyone back safe and sound in L.A. (assuming Bobby and Athena live. And they better be!)
Other Thoughts:
- Lola, Norman probably doesn’t want to see you while he’s trying to survive getting shot on a cruise ship in a hurricane. Just a thought.
- The doctor on the ship was queasy? That’s helpful.
- Of course, the drunk guy was the son of a councilwoman. Of course.
Agree? Disagree? What did you think of 9-1-1 7×02 “Rock the Boat”?
