We’ve always said that we’d watch anything that Glen Powell did and he’s definitely testing that statement. While some of us aren’t afraid of things that Stephen King write, this writer is terrified. Somethings that he has written still made me shudder when I think about it.
But Glen Powell, he’s taken on the lead in the remake of The Running Man for Paramount Pictures. The lead in the original was Arnold Schwarzenegger, and so I can guarantee you that I have never seen the original. No offense to Arnold Schwarzenegger fans, he’s just not my cup of tea.
During CinemaCon it was announced that Powell would star, Edgar Wright will direct and produce alongside his producing partner Nira Park and Simon Kinberg.
The story follows, “Ben Richards, a struggling man who participates in a reality show called The Running Man to win enough money to save his sick daughter.” It sounds simple enough, but like the TV show is cray cray, like violent. Hard pass.
But if you’re one of the people that will be watching, we applaud.
