You know that we are trash for a procedural and we’re really okay with that. We love them and we’re loving even more that new ones are coming.
Look, we know that there are a lot of them on the airwaves, but it feels like it’s the same one over and over again. The Hunting Party sounds somewhat different. Yes, some will say FBI: Most Wanted sounds a little like it, but we’re going with it being something new.
Partially because FBI: Most Wanted terrifies us.
The Hunting Party, is an upcoming crime procedural from NBC. The show is described as, “a small team of investigators who are assembled to track down and capture the most dangerous killers our country has ever seen, all of whom have just escaped from a top-secret prison that’s not supposed to exist.”
We previously told you how Melissa Roxburgh has joined the cast. Well now, Patrick Sabongui (The Flash) and Sara Garcia (Ride) are set as series regulars. You know that we love it when fandoms collide.
Garcia will play Jennifer Morales, an intel analyst and major in the army. Her character is described as an optimist and she’s bright. We loved Garcia in Ride and can’t wait to see her in her new role.
Sabongui portrays Ryan Hassani, a CIA agent. Every CIA agent that we’ve ever seen portrayed on television is pretty miserable, so how this will play out we’re interested. This is especially since his character is described as “world-worn” – so you know he’s a jaded miserable pesamist.
The show comes from the mind of JJ Bailey, who also wrote the pilot of The Hunting Party. He’ll serves as an executive producer and co-show runner. Serving the same way (EP and co-showrunner) will be Jake Coburn.
We’ll be standing by to see what this show is like. It definitely has piqued our interest.
What about you?
