Last week’s episode of 9-1-1 left us wondering what would happen to Bobby. Would he survive? And if he did, would he be the same? We were hoping for the best in “All Fall Down”, bracing for the worst, and we got… somewhere in the middle. We didn’t exactly get a storybook ending, and we were left worried about the 118 next season. Let’s review.

Don’t Mess with Athena
It was looking pretty grim for Bobby early in “All Fall Down”. But somehow we had a feeling he would pull through. He had to, right? This show wouldn’t be the same without him. Luckily, our feeling was correct, and he survived. We also learned a very important lesson: don’t EVER get on Athena’s bad side.
Athena wasted absolutely no time tracking down Amir, and she brought a gun. We don’t blame her for being on the warpath. Someone burnt her house down, and she wasn’t sure if her husband was going to live or not. We also kind of thought Amir was the culprit. We’re so glad we were wrong! In a way, it was a good thing Athena went to Amir’s house because she was able to follow him as he was kidnapped by the REAL culprits: the cartel.
The conversations Amir had with Athena and Bobby were raw and emotional, and some of the most powerful we’ve seen in the last seven seasons. Amir, Athena, and Bobby have all lost people they’ve loved. And they decided to take that loss and become better people. Now that we know Amir isn’t a criminal, can he become a series regular? Please?

A New 118?
We’ve said this before, several times, but we love how close the 118 is (and we understand why Tommy is jealous – because he wishes it was like that when he was there). The team didn’t waste any time coming to the hospital to support Athena and wait for updates on Bobby. We were so excited to see Bobby walk into the 118 and decide he didn’t want to quit after all. But maybe he didn’t inform the higher-ups that he wasn’t resigning. Because Gerrard is back. And no one is excited to see him.
What did Gerrard mean by the 118 needs new leadership? If he thinks he’s better than Captain Nash, he’s very wrong. He treats everyone so terribly, and that may have worked the last time he was in charge, but not this time. We have a feeling that the 118 is going to band together to get rid of Gerrard and get back Captain Nash. But we’ll just have to wait and see.

Family Shakeups
We knew seeing Shannon’s look-a-like was going to traumatize Christopher. We knew he was going to be very upset and mad at Eddie, but we didn’t expect him to call his grandparents. But this may be best for everyone. Obviously, we hope Christopher returns home soon, but he needs time away from Eddie to forgive him and work through his emotions. And hopefully, Eddie will use this time to work through his issues. And then when Christopher returns home, he’ll be better.
It’s so sweet that Maddie and Chimney are fostering Mara. Living with them is the next best thing to living with Hen and Karen. Especially considering the alternative was living in the group home. It was heartbreaking to see how much Mara regressed in that group home. We still hope that Karen and Hen get Mara back soon. They all belong together, and we’re still not over how cruel it was to have Mara ripped away from them.
While we do have to wait a while for the next episode, the show has already been picked up for season 8. We’ll see you in the fall!
