A live-action adaptation of Barbara Robinson’s classic book is coming to theaters just in time for the holiday season. The family comedy The Best Christmas Pageant Ever stars Judy Greer, Pete Holmes, Elizabeth Tabish, and Lauren Graham. It is based on the book of the same name.
The movie’s synopsis reads:
Based on the beloved book, THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER centers on the Herdmans – absolutely the worst kids in the history of the world. But this Christmas, they’re taking over their local church Pageant – and they just might unwittingly teach a shocked community the true meaning of Christmas.
Our first look at the film gives us our first glimpse at those “worst kids in the history of the world,” and let’s just say …they don’t look all that menacing. But points for effort, we’ll give them that.

We also got a look at Judy Greer and Pete Holmes’ characters. Lauren Graham, who also stars in the film, is set to be the narrator.
