With the final episode of Interview with the Vampire season two airing this weekend, many of us wondered if a third season was in the cards. We hoped and suspected there might be, so it was wonderful to get the confirmation we needed when Deadline broke the story that we will not be saying farewell to our favorite messy vampires, Louis and Lestat, anytime soon because the series has been picked up for a third season.
Can we say that after learning just what season three of Interview with the Vampire will cover, we are already shouting, “Gimme it!” According to Deadline, “In season three, Vampire Lestat sets his story straight in a way only he can – by starting a band and going on tour. Gabrielle. Nicholas. Magnus. Marius. Those Who Must Be Kept. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed, and others we can’t tell you about yet on a sexy pilgrimage across space, time, and trauma.”
We are getting Rockstar Lestat. Repeat. WE. ARE. GETTING. ROCKSTAR. LESTAT. Sam Reid is about to eat this version of our Brat Prince, and we cannot wait. We already got a taste of the performer he is in season two, which was on a theatrical stage. Also, we’ll be getting Queen Akasha because if we are, in fact, getting more of Lestat’s POV this time around, we would need more of his past pre-Louis. Based on this announcement, a few people still have yet to be mentioned. We respect it. You have to keep some secrets. The Talamasca would approve.
Speaking of all those mentioned, we are curious to see what Louis will be up to, especially after that finale, which we can’t speak of just yet. But it seems our broody vamp will be busy. We’re looking forward to the new layers Jacob Anderson will give us in season three and watching how he works with the new characters coming in. And of course, we’re looking forward to having more of Assad Zaman as Armand on our screens because you can never have enough pretty and petty vampires, right? There are already so many things to be excited about with all the characters coming on canvas. We are curious who will play Lestat’s mother, Gabrielle, and who will play Lestat’s maker, Magnus. We’ve been enjoying the cast on Interview with the Vampire, so we hope some great actors will be chosen.
Interview with the Vampire’s second season has kept us on our toes, and we are ready for season three to do the same. At this time, there are no other details, but what we did get is plenty. While waiting for more news, we will grab our Anne Rice books to get those re-reads in to brush up on our vampy history.
