Check Out All the 2024 Primetime Emmy Nominations!

It’s that time of year again, Moira Rose’s favorite season: awards! The 2024 Primetime Emmys have the distinction of covering the strike-impacted 2023-2024 TV season. In other words: with this year’s Emmy nominations, expect the unexpected.

Longtime favorites like Ted Lasso, Succession, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel ended their runs last year, while other perennial nominees like The Handmaid’s Tale didn’t air during this year’s eligibility block. (Other acclaimed shows, like Bridgerton and Interview with the Vampire, did not air enough episodes before the cutoff and will be eligible next year instead). Instead, it’s time for other shows to get their due.

While we pretty much all expect shows like The Bear and Shogun to dominate the wins, the Emmy nominations this year are spreading the wealth. We’ve got the expected nominations for beloved shows like Abbott Elementary and Hacks, of course. Previous “almosts” like The Gilded Age broke in. And frequently-snubbed actors and shows finally got their due (celebrate Reservation Dogs, folks!).
