What would you do if you had a black hole in your chest that was growing exponentially and keeping you stuck in a time loop? That’s the question posed in the upcoming film starring Ayo Edebiri and Mary-Louise Parker. But don’t worry, Edebiri isn’t the one with the black hole in her chest. It’s Parker’s character.
In the official trailer we get to meet quantum physicist Zoya Lowe who is stuck in a time loop. Not only that, but she’s got the looming knowledge that her time is running out before it consumes her. So she tries to solve the problem. That’s where Edebiri’s Paula comes into the scene.
Paula is a brilliant student that somehow ends up believing Zoya and decides to help her and solve time travel. They try everything, and still she goes back in time. As the trailer progresses, we see different versions of Zoya, the life she leads, and the bond that seemingly forms with Paula. And when asked what she wants, Zoya says “more days.”
Omni Loop was written and directed by Bernardo Britto. They have written multiple episodes for Los Espookys and multiple shorts. This is one of the many projects Edebiri has in production at the moment. They are working on After the Hunt, a thriller/drama that also stars Julia Roberts. There’s also the film Ella McCay, which stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Rebecca Hall. And then there’s Opus, which also stars John Malkovich.
