The Bachelorette 21×09 “The Men Tell All” is, by far, the best episode of this season of the show. No matter what happens in the finale, this will remain the best episode. It was a complete trainwreck from start to finish, we got the resolution from The Bachelorette 21×08 episode, both Jenn and basically every man in the studio took a shot at Sam and some of the guys who didn’t get enough love during the season got their chance to shine. Perfect episode, would not change a thing.
Let’s start with the good

What a hilarious episode of television, truly. These men should hold a roast. I haven’t laughed this much during The Bachelorette in ages. Jeremy, who knew you were this funny? Where was this personality during the show? I would have been rooting for you if I’d seen this before! I might have been proposing marriage myself! When you said “if the main thing was Devin, then yes” to Jesse’s question of if Sam was keeping “the main thing the main thing,” I just about died. Did the edit remove all the humor from this season or what?
And Jeremy wasn’t the only one, either, though there was an edge of actual anger to Spencer, for example. He seems like a genuine guy who was kinda upset that he ended up in the middle of the drama. And yet some of the interactions between these men were so wholesome and good, even beyond the just funny stuff, like Hakeem and the spider. Hakeem and Grant? Jonathon and Grant? Brett and the messages people have been sending him! All so great to see.
Plus, I’ll add, Jesse was an A+ host through it all. He always seems to treat all contestants and situations with respect, even if sometimes we at home might think what’s happening is a bit out there, which is something I respect because in the end, he’s dealing with real people. I don’t have to respect the people, but Jesse’s job is just this, to let them hang themselves. If some do, that’s on them.
And move on to the bad

Hilariously, some of the interactions even outside of the obvious one — Sam M, were borderline awkward. Aaron also got his share of backlash from everyone — including his own brother! I thought he might get away with it since Devin wasn’t around to call him out on their convo, but the rest of the men picked up Devin’s slack really well and it was nice to see that almost no stone was left unturned (not all men were there, but you know, they touched upon most of the drama).
That includes Sam M, who got a trashing from absolutely everyone, from the guys (Jeremy, seriously my dude, kudos), to Jenn herself, who came in looking like a Queen and gave it to Sam straight, not just for what he did on the show, but for the way he’s behaved since and the way he’s tried to gaslight everyone and pretend he didn’t actually do anything wrong.
Do I think Sam’s actually learned anything from this? No. Did he have to sit there and take it if he had any hope of walking out of this as anything other than one of the show’s biggest villains ever? Yes, so at least he recognized that. Not giving him one ounce of credit outside of that.
And then there were two…

Back with Jenn in Hawai’i, the episode gives us the resolution to the rose ceremony we didn’t get in the previous episode, and the final two are indeed Devin and Marcus, which means it is literally a choice between the guy who isn’t sure and the guy who 100% is. At least Jenn does tell Devin she loves him in this hour, after he basically demands reciprocation from her, because his issues are playing havoc on him, which I mean, I get …but also, he did sign up for The Bachelorette. I always find that people forget what show they’re on and what the rules are. But anyway, at least I was wrong and Jenn didn’t dump Devin here.
What will happen next? We will find out next week, but the best guess is she gets the wake-up call she needs from her family and gets engaged to Devin. We shall see if that really happens, and if it ends up being the best. Beats the alternative, though.
