Doctor Odyssey Season 1, Episode 1 Preview: ‘Pilot’

With Doctor Odyssey Season 1, Episode 1 only a few weeks away, we are chomping at the bit for any content we can get. We love a good procedural and this fall it seems there will be no shortage of them. Doctor Odyssey is a bit different though. The series, created by Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken will take place on the high seas. That alone is bound to give us some interesting stories. And hey, we won’t even have to set one foot onboard the ship ourselves.

In Doctor Odyssey Max (Joshua Jackson) is the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder. It’s all hands on deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other, miles from shore.

The series which will air on ABC also stars Phillipa Soo, Sean Teale, and Don Johnson. While we don’t know exactly how the pilot episode will play out, based on the first look photos, we’re in for an interesting hour of television. We got shots of Dr. Max walking on the ship no doubt checking out his new place of employment, we see Captain Massey (Johnson) all smiles and happy to be on the high seas. There’s a shot of Dr. Max dressed in scrubs surrounded by his team as he is no doubt preparing to save someone’s life. The picture that has us the most intrigued is the shot of Nurse Avery (Soo) sitting poolside looking a little cozy with Dr. Max. We can’t wait to find out what’s happening in there.

Synopsis

Max Bankman is The Odyssey’s new onboard doctor, where the staff works hard and plays harder. It’s all-hands-on-deck as he gets acquainted with Capt. Massey and his medical team, Avery and Tristan, while treating crises miles from shore.
