Peacock debuted the official trailer for Teacup, and it looks terrifying. The James Wan executive produced series “follows a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.” And it stars Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Speedman, Chaske Spencer, Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, and Luciano Leroux.
In the trailer we’re introduced to the Chenoweth family. Everything looks idyllic, Strahovski’s Maggie teasing her daughter, caring for the horses, and spending time with her son as she explains life lessons via a teacup with a trapped bee inside. It doesn’t take long for the animals to start acting weird, as if sensing a disturbing force. And it’s not until the youngest son gets kidnapping that the story takes a turn into the dark and disturbing.
The son issues a warning that there is something coming, something that destroys. And how does he know? There’s a voice in head, a man, that is warning all of them. To make things worse, there’s a masked man drawing a line around the property one night. A line that clearly says, do not cross. And from the noises that we heard in the trailer, whatever happens, it’s a grusesome death sentence.
Teacup is inspired by the New York Times bestselling novel Stinger by Robert McCammon. Without giving any spoilers away, Stinger takes place during a single 24-hour period. Within the story is a clear hunt, per say. And what you need to know is that the one doing the hunting is ruthless. Besides that, it’s best to wait for the premiere of Teacup. The terror that awaits you is worth it.
