Yellowjackets season 3 is coming! Some casting details are starting to trickle in but when we heard the name of Hilary Swank our jaws dropped. Read on for all the details! Ready?
Here we go!
This is not a drill! According to Deadline, Yellowjackets has added Hilary Swank to its cast for season 3! She has initially been cast as a recurring guest star in the upcoming season, which is currently filming in Vancouver.
However, it seems that if Showtime is still banking on the show for a season 4, the plan is for Swank to become a series regular. Details about the character she will play are being kept under lock and key.
But, since the story of Yellowjackets is about a team of talented high school football players who become the survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness, making us privy to not only how they survived then, but their lives nearly 25 years later, the show’s setup would allow for Hilary Swank to play the adult version of one of the surviving teens — one whose story is still unknown.
Yellowjackets is executive produced by Lyle, Nickerson, and fellow showrunner Jonathan Lisco. Creative Engine’s Drew Comins also serves as executive producer alongside Jeff Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa, and Brad Van Arragon. Produced by Lionsgate Television.
The series premiered in 2021 and has been well-received, earning 10 Emmy Award nominations over its first two seasons, including two nominations for Outstanding Drama Series.
Yellowjackets season 3 is set to premiere on Showtime in 2025.
