We’ve been meh about The Running Man, but that’s mostly because we didn’t like the original movie all that much. And by we, I mean me. But that being said, the reimagining of this movie has piqued my interest because you say Glen Powell, and I am all in.
Katy O’Brian had signed on earlier this month and now we have another face that we know. Hello Daniel Ezra, we’re excited for you to join the cast.
You know who Daniel Ezra is if you watched All American on The CW. Well, at least that’s how we came to know him.
During CinemaCon it was announced that Powell would star, Edgar Wright will direct and produce alongside his producing partner Nira Park and Simon Kinberg.
The story follows, “Ben Richards, a struggling man who participates in a reality show called The Running Man to win enough money to save his sick daughter.” It sounds simple enough, but like the TV show (the one in the movie) is cray cray, like violent. Originally or us it was a hard pass, because #scared, but now all of the sudden here we are and knowing that we’re gonna watch.
We’ll admit it.
The film is set to premiere on November 21, 2025.
