NCIS: Origins Season 1, Episode 8 ‘Sick as Our Secrets’ promises to give us a little more of Randy, and honestly, it’s about time. And yeah, I know, it’s only episode eight and the show has actually done a pretty good job of exploring these characters so far. But a funny thing happens when you actually start to like the characters in a procedural. You want to know more about them! My wanting to know more about Randy is actually a compliment.
The other thing is that the more we know about the characters the more their dynamics feel real. It’s not just about being able to root for them, it’s about believing in the way they relate to each other. Character building is made up of a bunch of little things, but if you have that information and you add good chemistry to interesting character dynamics you just have a winning formula.
NCIS: Origins feels like it’s got a winning formula so far. Now all it’s gotta do is keep building on it.
