We know it’s the holidays and you’re probably rushing around for last minute gifts. We’re, however, hiding. in our room and avoiding family. Holidays are tough man. But we’re enjoying binge watching television and thinking about this year.
One of the shows that we all should be watching is LAID. It’s a show about a, “woman finds out her former lovers are dying in unusual ways and must go back through her sex timeline to confront her past in order to move forward – LAID is a f**cked up rom-com where the answer to “why can’t I find love, is there something wrong with me?” is a resounding “Yes. There is. The problem is definitely you.”
We sat down and talking with some of the stars of the show about their roles and why they wanted to do it. We talked about the premise – which we’ve admitted that the premise sounds like our worst nightmare. But hey, we don’t like our exes. Ok some of them aren’t bad but some are questionable.
Talking with Andre Hyland and Michael Angarano was interesting. They both made me laugh, but also really just seemed to enjoy talking about the show. Some actors get bored by junkets, but these two just made me feel like no matter what I asked, they were just excited to talk about the show.
The two scared me a little when we talked about why they wanted to do the show and Angarano talked about the comedy aspect of it all.

Angarano said, “I really like the way the show talks and jokes about sex and death. There’s something– I don’t know. It feels a little like it’s not afraid to toe that line. I like some of the darker referential jokes. Sometimes it feels like it’s toying with the idea of not being totally PC, which is also fun. I think it’s a good hybrid comedy in a way that there hasn’t been one, where it feels like a sitcom from the ’90s, but it’s on a streamer like Peacock, so it has a little bit more flexibility of tone and range where it could talk about sex and have some f**ked up death scenes, but it’s also serving you like three jokes a minute. You know what I’m saying? It feels like a really nice mix that is kind of fresh for these days, so yes, that was what was appealing from the start.”
Don’t know what the death scenes are, but I am always scared of gory stuff, so hoping that isn’t the way it goes. The two assured me that the show is “70% comedy” and that it’s “bright and funny and clever.”
I can get down with that.
