Neil Druckmann, co-creator, writer, and executive producer has dropped an update for HBO’s most anticipated show during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES®). According to Druckmann, The Last of Us season 2 will debut this April on HBO and will be available to stream on Max.
Season 2 of The Last of Us is set five years after the events of the first season. Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind. And the teaser just dropped shows that the consequences of the past don’t just disappear. They follow.
At the heart of these consequences is Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever. She’s a Firefly who has suffered a great loss. And her eyes are set on those at the heart of The Last of Us, Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey.) Or at least we assume she is by the teaser edit and her words of “It doesn’t matter if you have a code like me. There are just some things everyone agrees are just wrong.”
The only reaction we have to something like that is, “[REDACTED], you’re in danger girl.”
