Look, a lot of these decisions have to do with PR. Optics. But that doesn’t mean that Meghan Markle and Netflix postponing the premiere of With Love, Meghan, the lifestyle series that is set to follow Markle as she entertains guests isn’t the right call. In fact, it’s absolutely what should have happened considering the devastation going on in Los Angeles right now due to wildfires. Particularly because both Markle and Prince Harry live in California, and though they have not been affected, they part of this community.
“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Markle said in a statement on Sunday.
The series was originally set to be released on Wednesday, January 15. The eight-episode series will now debut on Tuesday, March 4.
Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, and Alice Waters are some of the guests who have been announced for the series. Netflix has promised additional acclaimed chefs and special friends are also set to appear. The series was filmed in Montecito, California, and “blends practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old,” with Markle sharing “personal tips and tricks.”
