In today’s “everything is bad” news, there’s a new Suits LA promo out in the universe. It’s…marginally better than previous ones that ripped off the opening credits of the original series so obviously (and poorly), they weren’t even worth mentioning. As in, there’s actual footage now. Predictably, the only part that matters to us is our very brief glimpse of Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter. This man steals the show, even when he’s just part of a framed photograph. Love that for him!
Now, as far as the whole “Harvey: The only person I knew cockier than you” line goes…Well. Would now be a good time to remind everyone of how much nuance and soul Macht brought to the character? Just kidding — there’s never a bad time. And, well, can confirm nothing we see in this clip changes our minds about Amell being glaringly lacking in comparison. But honestly, who cares? Check out that scruff on Harvey! Long live the Gabriel Macht hiatus beard, long live Harvey Specter, and…no comment on the rest.
Or, well. We’ve commented plenty and will continue to do so. Case in point…

What even is this facial expression? Is it supposed to read “smug”? Looks more like swallowing something bitter. Or, just: “had to issue a fake apology after making gross comments about my union’s strike” to us. Too soon? Well, so are a lot of things. But here we are! But, back to the fictional character. New dude admits to knowing Harvey Specter and “liking” him because of how cocky — read as: dripping earned confidence — he is, thus proving this is truly a Suits spinoff (that waters down the original’s main character). Yet, somehow, Ted Black also thinks he’s “the best attorney in the country”? Please. Even when he was still operating as a fraud, Mike Ross was probably better. Let’s be real. Everything about this guy just screams “lesser.” Even his suits.
(Except Harvey’s pretty face. Obviously.)

If you need us, we’ll just be crying about Baseball!Harvey and the beard. We really have missed Harvey Specter. So…guess we’re going to have to just pause this here Suits LA promo on the lovely sight of him and wait to actually see him again for real, for real…?
Suits LA premieres Sunday, February 23 at 9/8c on NBC.
