We love a convention as much as the next person. There are so many that we do have a hard time keeping up, but this one made us turn our heads really quickly. Our ears perked up and we stopped in our tracks. A Jonas Brothers convention? You definitely have our attention.
The brothers announced on social media channels a one day, FREE fan event, that will be taking place at the American Dream mall on March 23rd. This seems (to us) like the perfect place for a convention because we can remember the days when you would go to the mall and an up and coming artist would perform. A nod to those days is something that makes us smile.
There are also events that will be happening on March 22nd.
What can we say – we know that was awhile ago – but that doesn’t make us feel old. What does make us feel old is that the reason that this con is taking place is because its celebrating 20 years of the Jonas Brothers music.
Now, the opening of this post that the brothers put online gave several fans (including this writer) a panic attack.
“To our incredible fans, as a family, we have been reflecting a lot lately,” it started.
It continued, “It’s been 20 years since we started this journey together. To us, it feels like just yesterday we were loading up our family mini-van with a couple of guitars and copies of It’s About Time CDs, en route to an afternoon performance at a local to play for anyone who would listen.”
We had to take a small break at this moment, because we remember when they broke up and right now we couldn’t handle that. The state of the world is enough to deal with. We need our happy things, and no pressure meant. We’d like to feel joy, and that means not giving us panic attacks thinking that you’re breaking up again.
“We were chasing our dream to play music and connect with others in a deep way that only music can provide,” the brothers continued. “We were teenagers then.. actually, Nick wasn’t even old enough to get into a PG-13 movie.”
After giving us a temporary panic attack, they clarified that we didn’t have to worry – they weren’t breaking up, however they are celebrating.
“In the years that followed, you’ve given us a thousand lifetimes of incredible memories. We wake up each day filled with gratitude that you’ve been on this 20-year journey with us. Together, we have celebrated wins, made mistakes, overcome obstacles, and grieved losses. Put simply: we’ve all grown up together.” the brothers continued.
Fans can register for free at www.JonasBrothers.com. The events are on a first come, first serve basis. Be sure to register as you’ll need to be for first access to additional, ticketed Jonas Brothers-themed events happening the weekend of the event.
The brothers will be making more announcements in the upcoming weeks – including which special guests will be attending.
We’re sat. We’re paying attention and apparently going to New Jersey in March.
