Well, fantasy fans, I have one question: are you ready? The Wheel of Time is coming back for season 3! The epic Prime Video series returns on March 13 to continue the battle between good and evil, and here’s everything we know to prepare you!
Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 13. That’s when Rand al’Thor (Josha Sadowski) and all of his allies– and adversaries– will be back on our screens in this adaptation of the successful book series by Robert Jordan. Rand discovered he was the Dragon Reborn at the end of season 1. He revealed himself as the Dragon to the world at the end of season 2. Now, the next phase of Rand’s journey as the prophesied savior or destroyer of the world will begin.

The Cast
Aside from Stradowski, all of the main cast from season 2 are returning, most of whom were also in the first season. Rosamund Pike once again plays Moiraine, the magic-wielding Aes Sedai guiding Rand toward his destiny, along with Daniel Henney as Lan, her Warder. Rand’s friends from the Two Rivers are all back as well: Madeleine Madden as Egwene, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin, Zoe Robins as Nynaeve, and Donal Finn as Mat. Ceara Coveney as Elayne and Kae Alexander as Min are also back, while Ayoola Smart as Aviendha, a great addition to season 2, appears again too. Moiraine’s Aes Sedai sisters Alanna (Priyanka Bose), Leane (Jennifer Cheon Garcia), Liandrin (Kate Fleetwood), and Siuan (Sophie Okonedo) will also return for season 3.
Rand may have defeated the Dark One’s leading henchman at the end of season 2, but he will still have to face the other Forsaken. This includes Lanfear (Natasha O’Keeffe) from the second season. Joining the cast for season 3 are veteran actors Shoreh Agdashloo and Olivia Williams, as well as Luke Fetherston, Callum Kerr, Nuno Lopes, Isabella Bucceri, Salome Gunnarsdottir, Nukaka Coster-Waldau, Bjorn Landberg, and Synnove Macody Lund. Some will be playing Elyane’s family. Yep, that large cast just got even bigger.

The Plot
As for what will happen in season 3, well, the fun is finding out as the episodes air, right? Prime Video has announced that the fourth book in Jordan’s series, The Shadow Rising, will be the primary source material for season 3. (I guess Bridgerton isn’t the only show to do that!) We do know that new places like the Aeil Waste will feature in the season. We also know that a return to the Two Rivers will be meaningful for Perrin. Rand’s struggle between the Light and the Dark will continue. Fighting the Forsaken will be a part of that.
