Don’t ask who “they” is, because to be honest we don’t have an answer. We just know that “they” say to never meet your heroes. Do we agree? Well, not sure, because we have listened to “they” and haven’t done it. That’s why we understand Nikki Glaser not wanting to go and talk to Taylor Swift despite being a huge Swiftie.
This year, Glaser was at the Grammys – she was nominated for the Best Comedy Album. She was in the audience with Swift and yet, she didn’t walk up and say hi. When asked
“Everyone wants a piece,” Glaser said while appearing on the Armchair Expert podcast. “I will never be the one to be like, ‘Excuse me’ — ever. It’s almost rude, what I do when I’m in the same room as Taylor Swift because I won’t even look her way.”
“There’s no way that she’s dying for that on a night like this where everyone’s doing it… and of course she would be so nice. I know exactly how it would go down,” she continued. “I just don’t want to take someone’s energy away that I require their energy to be put into making great music. That’s what I don’t want, her to make a less great song ‘cause she had to be like, ‘Nice to meet you,’ and hold me as I’m crying. No, we don’t need that. I can’t bother her.”
