Chicago P.D. Season 12, Episode 15 ‘Greater Good’ puts Voight on a direct collision course with Deputy Chief Reid, something we know would happen since the Chief pretty much blackmailed Voight into being his “friend.” The episode also brings back ASA Chapman, and considering that the last time we saw her she was confessing feelings about Voight and bouncing, that’s a lot of Hank Voight to handle.
But just the fact that Voight is getting some pushback is interesting. For too long he’s existed as a character with no oversight, and though we don’t truly like Deputy Chief Reid, his existence makes Voight more interesting because Voight needs a foil. And ASA Chapman can’t really be that after the feelings talk. Which, at this point, I’d be surprised if Voight doesn’t reciprocate.
Hopefully, this isn’t the end of the storyline with Deputy Chief Reid, but the beginning. We need some drama to end the season on a high.
