Part of fandom is falling so hard for a movie or television show that you don’t want to experience cancellation. I have been sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for news on The Way Home renewal. In my humble (or not) opinion, it’s one of the best shows on television.
I woke up to the news that The Way Home has been renewed for a fourth season. I will admit I cried happy tears. The news first broke on Hallmark Channel’s Instagram page with a video announcement. The video had series stars Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh.
“Our talented writing staff led by the mother-daughter showrunning team of Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke continues to amaze us as they raise the bar each season,” noted Samantha DiPippo, Senior Vice President, Programming, Hallmark Media. “Their carefully crafted storytelling filled with family drama, romance and an absorbing mystery has enthralled the show’s passionate fanbase and has made The Way Home appointment television. We can’t wait for them to see where the pond takes our time travelers as their journey continues.”
The Way Home is definitely appointment television. From the beginning of the series, the remarkable story telling, writing, acting and production value have captivated us (the fandom). The Way Home has become appointment television for me. You can not watch this show and not be deeply affected by the characters in this show.
You will become emotionally invested. It is one of the most underated shows on television. It’s got everything – family, relationships, communication, love, and time travel. It’s not just jumping into a pond.
The pond takes you where you need to go. No surprise, we can’t wait to see where it takes us in season four.
