The Hunting Party Season 1, Episode 7 ‘Mark Marsden’ looks to be exploring a theme of tragic love. The team is tasked with finding The Widower, a serial killer who lures women into getting married in order to kill them. He finds pleasure in enticing women with his charm and killing them when they believe they’ve achieved their happy ending. It’s going to hurt to see that happen to vulnerable women who don’t see his aggression coming.
On the other hand, we can’t help but wonder what this episode has in store for Bex and Oliver. Because in a way their love has been emotionally tragic. Bex, is torn apart by Oliver’s ability to push her aside as if she meant nothing to him as he killed a man in cold blood. has lived with that pain for years.
That moment broke their partnership and whatever trust and romance they possibly had at the time. It’s evident at the end of The Hunting Party Season 1, Episode 6 ‘Arlo Brandt‘ that Bex and Oliver are getting close again. They’re beginning to rebuild trust and work together again toward a common goal. In Bex’s words, “we know how this romance ends” when it comes to Marsden and his victims. However, we don’t know how Bex and Oliver’s relationship grows or ends now that they’re exploring a second chance of trusting each other. It’s exciting and slightly terrifying.
Romance and redemption aside, there are things to still be worried about when it comes to the team as a whole. Shane’s history with and purpose in forming a relationship with Henry Dulles is unclear. We’re afraid he could be one person to hurt us at the end of this. We hope to be wrong about that. Additionally, Hassani is brought into the Silo 12 investigation with Bex and Oliver. Will the men work together smoothly? Will more secrets be revealed? Only time will tell.
