It’s weird to talk about the Kennedy’s right now. Well, anything to do with them feels like the family should need to give permission. It’s also weird that as all this drama in happening with the release of the JFK files, we’re starting to talk about Ryan Murphy’s American Love Story that focuses on John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette.
The show was first spoken about in 2021, and NOW it’s coming to fruition with the casting of Sarah Pidgeon as Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.
Yes, yes, we’re intrigued. We know the fascination with their love story. The two started dating in 1994 and were married in 1996. John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette passed in a plane crash off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard in 1999. Both were very young – Carolyn was 33 and John was 38. Their lives ended too soon.
Carolyn and JFK Jr faced intense scrutiny throughout their relationship and marriage. The two were visibly in love and valued their privacy. There was just no escaping the paps at that time in history.
Carolyn was a hard worker – rising through the ranks at Calvin Klein. She eventually became the Director of Publicity and dealt with the celebrity clients that wore the line.
Pidgeon is best known to this site from The Wilds and Tiny Beautiful Things. We spoke to her for The Wilds and that interview is below –
What do you think about Sarah’s casting? Is Ryan Murphy’s American Love Story something you’d watch?
I Think Sarah Pidgeon would be great choice as Wonder Woman/Princess Diana of Themyscira In James Gunn Reboot DCEU
