The Hunting Party Season 1, Episode 8 ‘Denise Glenn’ has us wondering if we’ll see the public reacting to a murder taking place in the open. Since the beginning of the show, we’ve been thinking about what’ll happen when killers leave their victims in open and public spaces where society can see them. It’s been a priority to keep society unaware about the serial killers the team is trying to find. And they’ve been mostly successful in only getting medical and law enforcement teams involved. Sure, the team has been careful, but they can’t control how the killers behave out in the world.
Life always has a way of kicking you when you get comfortable.
We knew a moment like this was coming. Because you shouldn’t be getting comfortable following rules on how to catch a killer. Killers are unpredictable. Additionally, if given the time to evolve or learn from others, they will cause chaos you don’t see coming. You can’t expect them to stay out of the public eye if they want to cause a spectacle. Being known and admired is what the student of killer Denise Glenn wants.
Glenn’s student leaving a trail of displaying his victims as art pieces will push the team to be their best. We’ve been waiting to feel a ‘move quickly or people will find out’ urgency so this is a good thing. Because we haven’t seen the public reacting to a serial killer being on the loose yet until now. There’s no way regular people walking in a park won’t see a man attached to a cello with wires sticking out of hands and head. Someone has to see the gruesome sight of a kill, feel scared because of it, and leave with their life intact. And we need to see the team handle a case that spirals out of their control. The Hunting Party Season 1, Episode 8 ‘Denise Glenn’ could be that episode.
