Just two months after premiering, CBS has given us an update on whether Watson is set to get a season 2.
The Morris Chestnut led series follows John Watson, Shelock Holmes faithful companion. But the classic tale is turned on its head after Holmes apparent “death.” John has tried to move on by opening a clinic where he embracing his medical expertise but combines it with the mind of a detective. And just like Sherlock taught John, John is paying it forward by helping a group of brilliant doctors become better doctors.
At the moment of publication, Watson season 1 has aired 7 episodes. Each of those episodes has been averaging 6.79M viewers each week, according to Nielsen ratings. And with CBS reporting that the premiere episodes of the show was the most-watched scripted episode of the 2024-25 season, it comes as no surprise that Watson has been renewed for season 2.
Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Inga Schlingmann, Ritchie Coster and Rochelle Aytes also star on Watson. And Randall Park stars as Professor James Moriarty with Matt Berry as the voice of Sherlock Holmes.
Watson airs on Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.
