If you haven’t seen The Groomsmen trilogy, you definitely are missing out on great movies. The trilogy has three movies – The Groomsmen: First Look, The Groomsmen: Second Chances and The Groomsmen: Last Dance. It premiered last October on Hallmark+.
The trilogy is centered around three best friends, who support each other on the biggest days of their lives. In the movies B.J. Britt stars as Pete, who is a “kind-hearted pediatrician with a penchant for planning.” We also have Jonathan Bennett as Danny, a “baseball coach with a heart of gold.” Tyler Hynes stars as Jackson, who is a “stylish and charming social media agent.”
The second movie, The Groomsmen: Second Chances, was led by Jonathan Bennett. The second movie has now won a GLAAD award. It’s so deserved. We try not to play favorites – especially since they were all great – but the second movie was definitely this writers favorite.
Back in January, Bennett posted on his Instagram about being nominated – for the second movie in The Groomsmen Trilogy, Finding Mister Christmas, and Seasons Greetings from Cherry Lane.

His caption said, “3 @glaad nominations is something I had to sit and wrap my brain around. I feel so lucky not just to be nominated, but to have been able to create 2 of the projects, and even more lucky to be able to work and create at place like @hallmarkchannel and tell these stories. I feel so lucky my job is to tell LGBGT+ stories not just to a queer audience but a broad audience. I feel so lucky that I have people at Hallmark that give me unwavering support to tell these stories.”
He continued, “These stories are more important now than ever, and I just feel lucky that I get to be a part of telling them with the only team in Hollywood that are more than just co-workers, they are family. This is a family effort. Thank you to everyone involved in these projects that help these queer stories be told. And congrats to everyone out there telling LGBTQ stories, nominated or not. We are the lucky ones.”
The actor also posted from the GLAAD awards and we’re loving the inside look at going to an awards ceremony.
He wrote, “Here we go @GLAAD Media Awards! So proud to be nominated in 3 categories tonight with @hallmarkchannel. Wish me luck!”
We’re so proud of everyone involved with the movies and television shows on Hallmark.
Congratulations on winning Outstanding Film – Streaming or TV at the 2025 GLAAD Media Awards. It’s so well deserved. All three movies in The Groomsmen Trilogy are streaming on Hallmark+.
