We are like everyone else in the sense that if you dangle something pretty in front of us, chances are we will get a little distracted. We respect the fact that CBS is doing this right now – distracting us with information about FBI: CIA. They know perfectly well, we’re not going to be able to resist looking.
And wondering what is coming next.
Well, we know who will direct the pilot. If you’ve ever seen ER (the show… not the one you go and visit) then you know who Eriq LaSalle is. He’ll be directing and executive producing the first episode of the series. LaSalle has focused mostly on directing lately (instead of acting) and has directed things for Wolf Entertainment before. We can respect that and we’re sure this will be great. We’re just going to remain bitter because of FBI: International‘s cancellation.
We’re learning more about the show, which is said to be about “a fast-talking, rule-breaking loose cannon CIA case officer (Ellis), and a by-the-book, seasoned and smart FBI agent who believes in the rule of law. When this odd couple are assigned to work out of CIA’s New York Station, they must learn to work together to investigate cases and criminals posing threats on U.S. soil, finding that their differences may actually be their strength.”
FBI: CIA received a straight to series order – which hey, shows the belief in the show.
Deadline reported that the show was no longer getting a backdoor pilot, because CBS has made it one of its tentpole shows for the 2025-2026 season. You know what else should be a tentpole show? Well, that would be FBI: International, but someone cancelled that. Looking at whoever did that.
