Here we go!
Ellis will play the regular role of Oliver, a Baird College professor whose tough love attitude makes him an intimidating presence that is not appreciated by all students. He is married to Lucy’s teacher, Marianne (Gabriella Pession), but as one of the main characters begins to seek his approval, his influence will have chaotic repercussions.
Of course, Tom Ellis is going to be incredibly busy, as he will star in and produce Second Wife with Emma Roberts, for Hulu and 20th TV, from showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer.
He will next be seen in a lead role in Players, a Netflix romantic comedy co-starring Gina Rodriguez and Damon Wayans Jr. He will follow it with the Hulu limited adventure series Washington Black, based on the novel of the same name by Esi Edugyan, as steam-punk inventor Christopher “Titch” Wilde.
Tell Me Lies follows a tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over 8 years and sweeps everyone around it in its dangerous wake. A group of college friends have no idea that an addictive entanglement between them has the power to draw them all into a web of betrayal, sex, and lies that will permanently alter each of their paths forever.
Oppenheimer serves as executive producer and showrunner. Emma Roberts, co-founder Karah Preiss and Matt Matruski, executive producer under their Belletrist banner, and Laura Lewis and Stephanie Noonan, executive producer at Rebelle Media.
Shannon Gibson and Sam Schlaifer also serve as executive producers. Adapted from the novel of the same name by Carola Lovering, Lovering serves as a consulting producer. The Hulu Original series is produced by 20th Television.
Tell Me Lies is available to stream on Hulu.
