Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery) is a great actress. She’s captivating on the screen and makes us stop and take notice. The actress truly has a gift and we’re appreciative that she’s joining a show that we’re definitely looking forward to this fall.
Boston Blue, starring Donnie Wahlberg.
We’ve loved Donnie staring as Danny Reagan in Blue Bloods, and we definitely were surprised when the universe of Blue Bloods was expanding. The hard part was understanding why Danny would go to Boston. Still don’t get it because he’s as New York as they come.
But that being said, he is, so we’ll deal with our confusion.
Martin-Green will play Detective Lena Silver for the Boston PD. She announced that she was joining the show at a press conference with Wahlberg.
“I’m gonna have to get a really good Boston accent, just so I can throw it out at times,” Martin-Green said, giving some insight to her character. “We love the Reagans. We have all loved the Reagans for so long. Being Detective Lena Silver, who is coming from a prominent law enforcement family, you will love the Silvers too. I’m super excited for this partnership, and to be back in the CBS family.”
We’re just excited that CBS has picked up the spin-off, because we’re never going to be ready to say goodbye to the Reagans. That being said though, in the first episode, we’re going to need answers and really good build up to this new Blue Bloods world.
More than that – we want to know what you think. Are you excited for Boston Blue? Will you be watching? What do you think of Sonequa Martin-Green joining the cast?
We’re thinking she’s the perfect actor to play opposite Wahlberg.
