There is a special place somewhere for people who ruin movies and television shows. It is what it is there. We don’t make the rules, but we abide by them. And, hey, if you’re a celebrity or a late-night talk show host, be sure not to spoil anything.
Now, we love that Dakota Johnson was not afraid to stop late-night talk show host, Seth Meyers, from spoiling the end of The Materialists.
While on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Johnson had to stop him from spoiling the end of the movie. Meyers is all of us and loves Celine Song’s filmmaking. She directed Past Lives, and if you haven’t seen the movie, you should watch.
“The last shot of Past Lives was like, I just remember leaving the theater and thinking about it, and then I had the exact same — there’s just, I don’t want to give anything away, but there’s a really resonant last shot in this movie as well, I feel…” Meyers started and then continued on a bit.
Johnson looked at him and cut him off, saying, “Shut up!”
Johnson hadn’t seen Past Lives before accepting the role on The Materialists. She did go on to say, though, that she is a bit “obsessed” with Song.
Johnson said, “No, I’m really in love with her, and her brain, and her heart, and her soul. I’m obsessed with her. Past Lives, I thought was incredible, and I met Celine, and I thought we were just having a meeting. I didn’t think I would be considered for this movie at all. But she liked me!”
