On Wednesday (June 18) the cast of Squid Game Season 3 hit the pink carpet at the Premiere Screening Event at The Paris Theater in New York City.
Hwang Dong-hyuk (Writer / Director / Executive Producer), Kim Ji-yeon (Executive Producer), Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Yim Si-wan, Jo Yu-ri, Park Sung-hoon, Kang Ae-sim and many more were in attendance. And they took the opportunity to greet fans and pose for photos in front of the Paris Theater.

For those not familiar with the city, the Paris Theater is the longest-running arthouse cinema in New York City. And since November 2019 it has been operated by Netflix, becoming a hub for screenings and premieres. It’s also a super busy street. But for the premiere event for Squid Game Season 3, the street was roped off with a pink carpet in the front to welcome the cast.
Director Hwang Dong-hyuk addressed a full house of excited fans and invited guests saying, “I heard a lot of people got mad at me after Season 2 came out because [it] ended in such a cliffhanger, so I did my best to bring Season 3 of the work as soon as possible and here we are … the entire season will come out in about 9 days. And I promise it’s not going to let you down.“

Lead Jung-jae also spoke with press about how he prepared for the intensity of the games and the emotional weight of the storyline of the final season. He said, “In order to main Gi-hun’s intense emotions, I did everything I could in my power to maintain that energy. On set, I would distance myself from the rest of the cast and I would spend a lot of time alone so that I didn’t break character.”
As for the Front Man, played by Byung-hun, he was asked what’s for his character now that he successfully defeated Gi-hun’s attempt to overthrow the game. He said, “Season 3 is going to be the real face off between Gi-hun and Front Man. You can expect it.”
Squid Game season 2 became the third most-watched season on Netflix ever, garnering an impressive 68 million views upon its debut — breaking records for the most views in a premiere week — and ranking #1 in the Top 10 TV Series (Non-English) list across 92 countries.
As for the final season, according to Netflix, season 3 will explore the choices Gi-hun will make amidst overwhelming despair. As for the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), he’ll be plotting his next move as the surviving players find their decisions leading to increasingly dire consequences with each round of the deadly games. It’s set to be the third and final season of the series.
With the kind of turn out that the cast got in New York City, it’s clear that fans are excited for this final chapter.
Squid Game Season 3 premieres on June 27th on Netflix.
