Get ready to fall in love this holiday season. Fathom Entertainment and Karen Kingsbury Productions have announced that The Christmas Ring, the new holiday romance based on the novel by #1 New York Times bestselling author Karen Kingsbury, will premiere in theaters nationwide on November 6, 2025. It’s a story you’ll want to watch curled up in a blanket with hot cocoa and all the feels.
What We Know
This marks the latest collaboration between Kingsbury and Fathom. The first was the box office success of Someone Like You (2024). That collaboration brought in nearly $6 million and became one of the company’s highest-grossing faith-based films. Now, The Christmas Ring promises to bring more heart, history, and holiday magic to the big screen.
The movie stars Jana Kramer (One Tree Hill, Friday Night Lights) and Kristoffer Polaha (The Shift, Jurassic World: Dominion). The Christmas Ring follows a Gold Star widow (Kramer) searching for her family’s lost Christmas ring. Only to cross paths with a charming antiques dealer (Polaha) whose own family history might be tied to the mystery.
“I’ve always loved classic Christmas movies like While You Were Sleeping and You’ve Got Mail,” Kingsbury said. “This story has that same kind of heart: romance, history, and a quiet reverence for those who serve, set between WWII France and present-day Columbus, Georgia.”
The film reunites several members of the Someone Like You creative team. Director Tyler Russell and producer Natalie Ruffino Wilson included. And that is just one more reason to get excited. If their previous project was any indication, this one is going to be heartfelt, hopeful, and beautifully told.
“Karen’s storytelling continues to connect with audiences in a deep way,” said Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Entertainment. “We’re thrilled to partner with her again to bring this new holiday story to theaters.”
And for fans who love to read the book before (or after) seeing the movie, good news. Kingsbury’s new novel The Christmas Ring will hit shelves on October 21, 2025, making for the perfect companion experience.
Tickets for The Christmas Ring will be available later this Fall at Fathom Entertainment and participating theatre box offices. If you’re a fan of timeless love stories, holiday traditions, and emotional journeys that leave you teary in the best way, this film is about to become your new seasonal favorite.
The Christmas Ring will open on Theaters on November 6.
