If you go online, you know that a lot of social media is filled with nothing but negativity. People seem to be happier making people upset or hurting people’s feelings than they do lifting others up.
Celebrities are not strangers to people being mean online. They seem to get the cruelest comments made to them. One person who does get a lot of hate online is Rachel Zegler. Whatever she does, she can’t win.
That being said, we don’t always agree with the things she says. She knows that people don’t always agree with her. But how does she handle online hate?
When she talked to i-d she said, “I think a victim mindset is a choice, and I don’t choose it. I also don’t choose nastiness in the face of it. I don’t choose negativity in the face of it. I choose positivity and light, and happiness. And I do believe at times, happiness is absolutely a choice, and every day I wake up, and I think I’m very lucky to live the life I live.”
The actress has also been viral lately a she defended her bodyguard Danny, after a performance of Evita. A fan accused Rachel’s bodyguard of being too aggressive with the crowd.
Rachel stepped in calmly, and in the viral clip, she said, “Hey, I love you so much, but Danny is just doing his job, he’s just protecting me. He works here and he’s helping me because crowds are very, very intimidating. I know, babe, I love you so much, but please don’t disrespect my Danny.”

Maybe what we can learn from Rachel’s defense of Danny is that you can be calm and nice, and you still will get your point across. Crowds definitely are intimidating.
Kindness matters.
