The Old Guard 2 is debuting on Netflix this week, and the movie will bring back Andromache of Scythia, aka Andy (Charlize Theron), and her team of immortal mercenaries. But some new faces are joining the familiar ones in this sequel to the very successful action film.
“There’s something for everyone in this movie: Fans who loved the first film, fans who love the original graphic novels — and brand-new fans who are looking for insane action, grounded and relatable characters, gorgeous locations, and a global cast of superstars,” Theron told Netflix about the upcoming film.
But who exactly is returning for The Old Guard 2, and who is joining the franchise for the second film?

Charlize Theron as Andromache of Scythia
She might have lost her immortality at the end of the first film, but that doesn’t mean she’s slowing down. “The action sequences that we accomplished in the first Old Guard film were really celebrated,” Theron told Tudum. “ So the first thing we looked at was: How can we raise that bar?” Well, we’ll find out soon.
KiKi Layne as Nile
Is this movie when we find out how powerful Nile actually is? Because, just from what we saw in the first movie, it’s obvious she hasn’t even come close to realizing, much less using, her full power.
Matthias Schoenaerts as Booker
Ah, Booker. We wanted to love you. Now, we’re glad you’re in exile. But we have a feeling your story isn’t anywhere near over.
Marwan Kenzari as Joe & Luca Marinelli as Nicky
Our OTP forever. Who can forget this scene from the first movie?
“In this movie, it was really good to think about how you don’t have to be immortal to be experiencing something that is immortal — such as Joe and Nicky’s love,” says Marinelli. We can’t wait.
Veronica Van (formerly Veronica Ngô) as Quynh
We didn’t see much of her in the first film, but we already know she’ll be a formidable adversary.
“We pick up with Quynh right where we left her in the last film,” Van (formerly Veronica Ngô) tells Tudum. “For her, the most cruel thing about being underwater for so long is seeing that everybody moved on. When she comes back to search for Andy after 500 years, she’s carrying so much emotion: missing, loving, longing, hatred, betrayal.”
Henry Golding as Tuah
Henry Golding as a new immortal warrior on Andy’s team? We’re in.
“Henry showed up with this beautiful nobility and wisdom that served the character Tuah really well. He holds so much mystery and long-lived secrets of the Old Guard. Tuah’s a character that brings real perspective on how long our immortals have been around. I can’t imagine anyone else but Henry playing this part,” Theron told Tudum.
Uma Thurman as Discord
Look, it’s Uma Thurman and she’s giving Kill Bill. What more could we possibly ask for?
“Uma is very formidable and you just can’t take your eyes off her. Her character is a real enigma of the Old Guard team — what she would probably call her mission, her purpose in life is very much in conflict with the OG team,” Theron shared with Netflix.
Chiwetel Ejiofor as Copley
The team would not be complete without their tether to the world, and that’s Copley.
“Copley’s really embedded with them and feels like a part of the gang,” Ejiofor shared with Tudum. “He’s not immortal, but he sometimes acts as if he thinks he is. They’re rubbing off on him a little bit.”
